INPORTANT NOTICE TO THE MEMBERS OF 3334
Brother Sir Knights,
Upon the recent death of Bishop Emeritus Sir Knight Carl F. Mengeling, a movement began to rename the Lansing Assembly after the late Bishop Mengeling. At our July Assembly meeting, after serious discussion, a motion was and seconded to revise our Assembly Charter to take the name of The Bishop Carl F. Mengeling Assembly.
The first vote on this resolution passed unanimously on July 15th. A resolution requires two affirmative votes to pass at two consecutive assembly meetings. The second vote on this resolution was held on August 19th, and passed unanimously. This resolution is officially passed. After the assembly vote, it was announced that Bishop Earl Boyea, 5th Diocese of Lansing has approved of the name change.
UPDATE on the name change
Michigan 4th Degree District II Master Ben Dandrow and Hennepin Province 4th Degree Vice Supreme Master Walter Winkle has approved of the name change. We are waiting to hear from the Supreme Master, and the Supreme Council Knights of Columbus.
The resolution is posted below.
